The world's best tennis player, Novak Djokovic, is finally returning to the court after a break of more than a month following a heavy defeat in the final of the US Open at the hands of Daniil Medvedev.

Novak missed the Masters in Indian Wells after that, he even risked losing the top ATP spot for a week, but his main competitor, Medvedev, failed to win a tournament and thus propel himself to be the top for one week.

Djokovic decided to play at the Masters in Paris, where he has had a lot of success in the past, winning the tournament a record five times.

This will be an opportunity for Novak to secure the number one ranking at the end of the year, because if he triumphs, Medvedev will no longer have the theoretical chance of overtaking him.

Djokovic confirmed that, in addition to the Masters in Paris, he will also play the final Masters in Turin, as well the Davis Cup.

However, he is still not sure whether he will play at the Australian Open at the beginning of next year, because it is not yet officially known whether unvaccinated players will be allowed to enter Australia. Novak did not want to reveal his vaccination status, stressing that this is a private matter.
