The players of Zalgiris and Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) basketball clubs last night playing a postponed EuroLeague match in Kaunas, Lithuania, which was just a matter of prestige for both teams, because both had already lost any chance of qualifying to the Top 8 phase of the strongest European competition.

Red Star basketballers had to face an unpleasant situation at the beginning of the match - the home fans reacted with a salvo of boos to the fact that the Serbian team did not want to hold the Ukrainian flag, that had the message "stop war" printed on it.

Zalgiris players, as well as the three referees, help up the flag, which has become a practice in Kanaus since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and in which the visiting teams participate, too - but not Red Star.

Most of Serbia, as is well known, stands with Russia and the Russian people on every issue, so this reaction of the players of coach Dejan Radonjic is not surprising.

Listen from another angle as the fans of Zalgiris booed Red Star, which started the match with two Americans in the lineup, Wolters and White, former players of the Lithuanian club.

And there were some nice moments before the match, too...

Zalgiris captain Edgaras Ulanovas presented a symbolic gift to Nate Wolters, who played for the Kaunas team a few seasons ago.
