President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz would have come to Belgrade even if the head of Russian diplomacy visited Serbia on Monday, as well as that he is now free to say that.

He said that Scholz will definitely come to Belgrade with difficult messages for us that many will not like.

"Those few hours with Scholz (when he visits Belgrade on Friday) are of great importance for us. For us, Germany is the largest trade partner and the largest in everything, the largest investor, it invests in factories, employs 77,000 people. I thank Chancellor Scholz, I am always careful and responsible, but he was so fair that from his office they said that even if Lavrov comes, albeit after a statement of mine, they said that regardless of that, Scholz always sees a solution in talks and direct engagement and that he would definitely come," Vucic told RTS.

Vucic stressed that this was announced after he said that he did not know whether Scholz would come.

I thank him for that, I will not forget that, Serbia knows how to appreciate that, said Vucic.

The president of Serbia stressed that he likes honest conversations and when someone wants to hear our arguments regarding Kosovo and Metohija.

"Territorial integrity cannot be valid for Ukraine, but not for Serbia. If not, then at least say you understand our position. Many important conversations await us in the coming days. We have Open Balkan, we have Szijjarto, Scholz. Almost the same evening, almost along with Scholz, as soon as he leaves in his plane, we are going to the 10th or 11th summit in Athens, Thessaloniki, the summit around Southeast Europe, where the Western Balkans, Bulgaria and Greece will be and where the Germans are coming," said Vucic.

He added that he is not optimistic about the situation in the world.

"I have a very bad feeling regarding the overall situation in the world, it is our job to fight and do everything we can for our country and live as normally as we can and I thank the people who understand that," said Vucic.
