Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to visit Serbia in August

Serbian National Assembly President Ivica Dacic said in Istanbul today that relations between Turkey and Serbia are very important for the whole region, stressing that it is very important that Turkey has a positive approach and a positive role in solving current problems, especially in stabilizing Bosniak-Serb relations.

Dacic said that on the sidelines of the Global Parliamentary Conference, dedicated to the issues of migrants and refugees, he met with President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Sentop, with whom he agreed that the two countries have very good bilateral relations and that their further improvement is expected.

"Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is also expected to visit Serbia in August," said Dacic.

He added that he had several meetings with Sentop during his tenure as the Serbian Assembly president, as well as that the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Turkey had a great number of members, and that both sides want to work on improving bilateral relations between Serbia and Turkey.

"We agreed that the visits of parliament speakers at the highest level will be regular and we expect that cooperation to continue along the lines of overall relations between Turkey and Serbia," said Dacic.
