Goran Vesic, a member of the Presidency of the Serbian Progressive Party, told Happy TV that he expects the government to be formed before the 3-month deadline, considering the tasks that await it.

"The hardest winter since the Second World War is ahead us, all European leaders from Macron to Scholz claim that. The first task of the new government will be to provide enough food and energy for citizens. President Vucic has been securing food since last fall, and by renting storage facilities in Hungary, we are close to provide enough energy," said Vesic.

He added that citizens should know that Serbia is in a better position than other countries, but stressed that our country is not an isolated island, and if there are economic problems in Germany, the problems will spill over to here as well.

He said that one of the challenges of the new government will be to preserve political and economic stability.

"In 2021, we as a country attracted 4 billion in foreign investments, those who invest do not invest in an unstable country. We must ensure the inflow of investments, new jobs and protect the living standard. The president has already announced an increase in pensions, the minimum wage and wages for certain categories of people who work in the administration," Vesic stressed.

Vesic said that in the Russian-Ukrainian war, we must preserve peace and lives and not fight other people's wars.

"The new government must be composed of responsible, dedicated persons who find it an honor to work for the people and who will not run away from work and responsibility. We have a serious task ahead of us to implement President Vucic's policy and to protect Serbia," Vesic said and added that difficult talks await Serbia regarding Kosovo and Metohija, because the provisional authorities in Pristina do not want sincere talks and have only one policy, which is to expel the Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija.

He added that Serbia responds wisely and adequately to all their threats.
