The mayor of Novi Sad and member of the Presidency of the SNS party, Milos Vucevic, said that a meeting of this body will not take place today, that should have discussed the PM-designate.

"It will not be held today, but in the following days," Vucevic told TV Prva, as reported by the portal B92.

He explained that the session will not only discuss the  new government, but that all pressing issues the state is facing will also be on the SNS Presidency agenda.

He stressed that there is an option for the coalition government to propose the prime minister, and for the ruling party to accept that proposal.

"The government will be minority inclusive, that is, minority parties will participate in government, to show that Serbia is an open country for its citizens... And let's see if we will establish cooperation with SPS and JS," said Vucevic.

The mayor of Novi Sad added that no matter who is elected, the new government faces challenges such as the energy crisis, the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, relations with Croatia, the fall of the Government of Montenegro, as well as the fact that from November 1 we will not be able to import Russian oil due to (western) sanctions against Moscow.

When asked if he is ready to be prime minister, Vucevic stressed that whatever the SNS decision is, there is no campaign within the party and adds that Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and he are friends.

"Most people think that we are saying that just for the sake of it... Whatever the decision is, we will all work together. Ana Brnabic did her job very well, and it is not easy... She is a woman who did not come from the world of politics, but she managed well. If Ana gets the mandate (to form new government), I am ready to work in the best interest of Serbia. My policy is clear - Serbia is above everything," said Vucevic.

Speaking about serving as mayor, he said that he is proud of what he has done, but added that he regrets some things that he thinks he could have done better.

"I know that I am proud and satisfied that I was the mayor for 10 years... I fought for Novi Sad, as well as for Serbia, and I sleep in peace. Is it time for a new page in politics? Well we'll see. I don't run away from other responsibilities. If I stay in this position, will I be disappointed? I don't function like that," explained Vucevic.

Speaking about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, he said that nothing was resolved well in Brussels last week, that is, nothing was resolved regarding license plates and personal documents.

Vucevic stated that the Pristina side led by Albin Kurti further complicated a complex situation.

"As long as Serbia is not saying that it is giving up on its territory, and I hope that it will never give up a part of its territory, Kosovo (Pristina) cannot get it," he explained.
