"Grandma raised her, she strangled her": Neighbors react to horrific murder in Sarajevo

There is disbelief in a Sarajevo street where an elderly woman (74) was brutally murdered last week. Two minors are suspected of committing the murder, and one of them is the granddaughter of the victim.

Neighbors of the murdered elderly woman are still in shock and cannot believe what happened.

"The girl grew up too soon. You know how it goes when you're socializing, 'come one, let's light it, let's try this' and so on... Her friends acted wild, they were always arguing, banging on the door," one of the neighbors told Avaz.

Another neighbor said that the mother of the minor suspect is a good and hardworking woman.

I feel sorry for her mom, she goes out to earn a living, she struggles. The mother is great, the grandmother was even better. One has to endure all sorts of things," the neighbor commented and added that the girl was problematic.

"She would knock on my door at midnight. The street cannot be raising children. Grandma raises you, you kill her," commented the neighbor.

Two minors are suspected of murdering an elderly woman in Sarajevo. According to earlier media reports in Bosnia and Herzegovina, another minor, a male, was also arrested, who was present in the room where the crime took place.

Allegedly, they consumed alcohol together, and then there was an argument between the minors and the elderly woman, after which they strangled her and tried to present it as a natural death.

Several people were brought in to the premises of the Sarajevo Canton Police Department and a criminal investigation is being conducted against them.
