State Department spokesman Ned Price has reiterated that the US supports the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina with the mediation of the EU.

When asked about the message of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to Pristina and Belgrade, considering that October 31 is approaching and the deadline set by Pristina for cars with Serbian licence plates to be registered to "Kosovo plates," Price said that Washington's message about this is consistent and that the US fully support the EU-mediated dialogue.

"We will continue to support that dialogue led by the EU. We will continue to be a partner to Kosovo and Serbia in the hope that in the coming days they will be able to resolve this dispute peacefully," Price told the Pavlovic Today site, reports Tanjug.

He recalled that the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Gabriel Escobar was in Pristina and Belgrade to support that process.

"As you know, the secretary himself was also deeply involved in it. He also spoke with Serbian President Vucic and Kosovo Prime Minister Kurti earlier this month, on October 11. He stressed our support for the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia with the mediation of the EU. He called for continued constructive engagement to ensure peace and stability throughout the region," said Price.
