Klisman Kadiu, a political adviser to the deputy prime minister of the provisional institutions of Pristina, Besnik Bislimi, has said that Pristina is expected to apply for membership in the European Union during December.

In a written response to Radio Kosovo, Kadiu stated that the government in Pristina has started preparations for submitting an application for membership in the European Union, and that the first step is to obtain candidate status, reports RTK.

He said that at the end of August, a commission was formed to deal with the preparation of that application, reports Tanjug.

"The government is taking all the necessary steps in informing the allies and the Czech EU presidency about the goal of the request," Kadiu added.
