The US special envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, will arrive in Pristina on Monday, December 12, reports Ekonomija Online.

Escobar should meet with the prime minister of the provisional institutions of Pristina, Albin Kurti, and according to Pristina's Kanal10, the US official is coming because of the tensions in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, as well as because of a new version of the EU proposal for normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina.
EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Josep Borrell said on Tuesday after arriving at the EU-Western Balkans summit in Tirana that the latest version of the proposal in the dialogue has already been forwarded to Belgrade and Pristina.
