Albanian man J G., a friend of Ivana Krivokapic, who was found dead in a locked apartment in Belgrade's Zvezdara, is suspected of her murder according to the first unofficial information.

His DNA was found on her body, but the real truth should be revealed by the DNA found under her fingernails.

"It is still really early to suspect anyone as a potential killer, pending the results of the DNA found under her fingernails. Given that she had bruises and weals on her arms, she was defending herself from her killer, and it is assumed that the sample could reveal who did it. DNA belonging to J.G. was found on her body, but that doesn't mean anything for now," a source from the investigation of this case told us.

The first details from the investigation showed that she was strangled to death, by the murderer choking her with one hand and covering her nose with the other.

Also, on the fateful day, security cameras from a nearby facility recorded Ivana and a young man walking towards the building where she lived. And the expert examination of phone base stations confirmed that J.G. was close to the young woman at the time of her death.

"He soon left Serbia and is believed to be hiding in Montenegro. He caught the police's eye when he addressed late Ivana on social networks, and when the investigators wanted to interview him, he was no longer available. We knew from the very beginning that the crime was committed by someone who knew Ivana," says our source from the police.

The farewell

On the day the body was found, J.G. posted on Facebook: "My angel. I just can't believe that this happened to you. You will be in my heart forever. May you rest in peace my dear.. R.I.P Ivana Krivokapic."

The investigation is being conducted by the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade.

There is no official confirmation from the authorities as to whether J.G. is suspected of committing the crime.

Ivana's lifeless body was found by her brothers on December 24 in a rented apartment in Zvezdara.

She was not answering her phone, they broke down the apartment door and found her on the bed with her pants unbuttoned and her blouse lifted up.

They saw bruises on her neck, and she also had injuries to her lip, eye, fingers and forearm. It all indicates that she fought for her life until her last breath.
