Serbian representative Darja Suvirdjonkova failed to advance in the junior doubles competition of the Australian Open, as she and her partner Anastasia Grechkina were defeated in the round of 16 by Hayu Kinoshita and Sara Saito (6-3, 6-3).

The "Serbian Russian" and the Russian spent 65 minutes on the court, but failed to offer more resistance to the fourth seed duo in this tournament.

Darja already stressed earlier in conversation with the Serbian media in Melbourne that Maria Sharapova is her idol, and she was close to advancing in the first round of the singles, but was defeated by Anya Murthy of the US in three sets.

Now, she stated, professional tournaments in north Africa, Egypt or Tunisia await her, and her next big goal is the French Open.

She prefers clay, but can play on any surface. Certainly, she will prove herself in Paris if she can.
