Last night just after midnight, during a festival event in Grocka, a suburban municipality of Belgrade, three people got injured while riding a merry-go-round.

Although the owner claimed at the scene that the merry-go-round was working properly and that there was no (mechanical) accident, the MUP (Interior Ministry) said that the pillar did brake.

"The pillar broke during the ride and three people were injured. One person was born in 2004, another in 2003, and the third in 2003. All of them received minor injuries and were discharged for home treatment," the MUP told us.

A Telegraf team today visited the place where the incident took place, and on that occasion we also spoke with the owner.

"The merry-go-round was in a completely proper working order, nothing broke or came loose. The children were throwing themselves around. The children did respect the rules, but they were throwing themselves around, and that's what the merry-go-round is for, too," the owner told us.
