Jevrosimovic unanimously elected as candidate for new 4-year mandate at helm of Athletics Federation of Serbia

The Athletics Federation of Serbia (SAS) has officially started the election process during which the president, director and members of the Management and Supervisory Board will be elected for the 2024-2028 mandate.

"In line with democratic principles, the Management Board of SAS unanimously decided to nominate the long-time president, Veselin Jevrosimovic, for a new four-year mandate. Jevrosimovic marked the previous 3 terms of office with his commitment and vision, and is determined to continue contributing to the development of athletics in Serbia," said the Athletics Federation of Serbia.

Veselin Jevrosimovic has been the president of the Athletics Federation of Serbia since 2009, he managed to revive the sport that was completely devastated and is now one of the main sources of medals won in major competitions.

At the same time, the infrastructure whas been renewed. The Athletic Hall in Banjica has been built, and a large number of athletic stadiums and tracks throughout Serbia have been renovated. Serbian track-and-field athletes brought a large number of medals from the biggest competitions.

The European Indoor Championship was organized in Belgrade in 2017, and two years later the World Indoor Championship, and both were rated as the best ever organized.

The plan is for Serbia to soon build an athletics stadium, where the European outdoor championships should be organized in 2030.
