The second difficult day of the search for Danka (2), who disappeared yesterday before 2 pm in the village of Banjsko Polje, is underway. Police checkpoints, where everyone who moves there is checked, have been set up at the entrance to the village. The police and the medical emergency service are at the approaches to the house, there are also firefighters and members of the Mountain Rescue Service.

There are no locals in the village, say our journalists at the scene. The settlement is urban, but the terrain is inaccessible - it rained all night and it is very cold.

There is still no sign of the two-year-old girl Danka.

The house near which the child disappeared is isolated from the others, about 150 meters away from other buildings. The police do not allow access.

All abandoned buildings in the area have been inspected, and all "persons of security interest" who have previously had problems with the law are also being investigated.

Interior Minister Bratislav Gasic arrived in Bor last night, and this morning gave instructions that volunteers who want to join the search can do so in coordination with the police. About 20 locals were given permission to participate in the search operation along with the police.

Yesterday, around 500 locals, together with the police, Gendarmerie, and the Mountain Rescue Service participated in the search for the missing girl.

Drones and thermal imaging cameras were used, but because of the forests and streams in the surroundings of Banjsko Polje, they did not bring results.

For the first time, Amber Alert was issued in Serbia for a missing child.

The whole country is closely following the case, praying that the girl will be found. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing purple pants, an olive green jacket and her hair was tied in a ponytail.

If you see Danka immediatelly contact the police (by calling 192), or her parents by calling 0652816041.
