30th attempt to constitute Assembly in Pristina fails

The constitutive session of the Assembly of the provisional Pristina institutions was paused today for the 30th time, as the Self-Determination's proposal to make the vote to elect the president of the assembly secret was once again not accepted.
The chairman of the constitutive session, Avni Dehari, scheduled the next for June 13, starting at 11 am.
Out of the 93 deputies present in the hall, 52 voted in favor, Pristina media is reporting.
Self-Determination's candidate is lbulena Haxhiu, who needs 61 votes to be elected.
After Haxhiu failed to get the required number of votes, Dehari proposed to form a committee to supervise a secret ballot, but this proposal did not receive the required majority either.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and Nisma are opposed to Haxhiu's candidacy and to a secret vote.
The constitutive session began on April 15, and based on the results of the elections held on February 9 no party has enough seats to independently form a government.
Self-determination has 48 deputies, the Democratic Party of Kosovo 24, the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo 20, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the Nisma initiative eight, the Serb List nine, the Party for Freedom, Justice and Survival one, and the remaining 10 mandates belong to representatives of other non-majority communities.
