Another anti-corruption arrest in Novi Sad: Here's who suspected director, who "appropriated" MILLIONS, is

V.Z.J. was arrested today in the anti-corruption operation, the result of cooperation between the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad and the police.

V.Z.J. is suspected of of committing a prolonged criminal offense of abuse of the position of a responsible person.

In the course of the actions taken so far within the pre-investigation procedure, it was established that there are grounds for suspicion that the citizens' association "Knowledge and Conservation Factory", where the suspect was the responsible person - representative, allocated funds from the Republic of Serbia, the autonomous province of Vojvodina and the City of Novi Sad for the realization of 19 projects in the total amount of 7,380,000 dinars.

The activities related to the projects were not carried out, instead money was spent on designing and printing project logos, brochures, catalogs, flyers, etc., while the suspect submitted false reports to the donors to justify the spending of the allocated money, when she described activities related to the projects that never happened (lectures, workshops, multimedia exhibitions, etc.).

In this way, the Republic of Serbia, AP Vojvodina and the City of Novi Sad were damaged in the total amount of 7,380,000 dinars.

Based on the approval of the Special Department for Combating Corruption of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad, the suspect V.Z.J. will be held in police custody for up to 48 hours, during which time she will questioned in accordance with the law, at the Special Department for Suppression of Corruption of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad.
