The JANAF pipeline has received a license from the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to continue transporting oil to Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) until August 27, the company managing the pipeline announced.

"JANAF has, in cooperation with the Croatian Government with the support of its US legal representatives, obtained a license until August 27, 2025, which enables continued execution of the contract to transport crude oil concluded with NIS," a statement said.

Also, JANAF will continue, together with the Croatian Government and US legal representatives, to carry out all activities aimed at ensuring the necessary conditions and consent for unobstructed fulfillment of contractual obligations towards NIS in the coming period, it has been stated.

The US Treasury Department issued a new special license on Monday, which delayed full-scale sanctions against NIS and which allows the company to carry out its operational activities until August 27.
