A wildfire that broke out the night before last, after a car caught on fire on the main road in Buljarica, has spread to inaccessible terrain and has reached the area above Canj, along the coast in Montenegro.

Firefighters from Budva, together with their colleagues from other nearby municipalities, have been on the ground since yesterday battling the blaze that has engulfed a hill above Buljarica.

Airplanes and a helicopter have also been deployed in an effort to extinguish the fire, RTCG is reporting.

Several large wildfires have been registered throughout Montenegro today, including in the vicinity of Podgorica. A number of families had to be evacuated from Gornji Rogami.

During the morning, a huge wildfire broke out in the hills above Canj. As videos posted on social networks show, very dense evergreen woods are burning.

The fire is spreading very fast carried by a strong northern wind.
