Red Star fans "storm" their club's stadium in the middle of the night, to set up craziest flare display

After the national tram played its game not so successfully, the focus of football fans returns to the club level and the SuperLiga. The 8th round is ahead this weekend, with several interesting matches, including Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) vs. Zelenicar  from Pancevo.

The match is scheduled for September 14 and will start at 17:00, and has special significance for Red Star fans ("Delije"), as it will also be an occasion to mark the 62nd birthday of the Rajko Mitic Stadium, known colloquially as "Marakana" - and for that reason the club has decided to let the fans in free of charge.

The Red Star Stadium in Belgrade was officially opened on September 1, 1963, when the home team beat Rijeka 2-1. Since then, many legendary footballers have played there, lifting trophies, scoring spectacular goals...

For many fans the stadium has become their "second home", and many consider it a real home.

That's why Delije organized a special event to announce the upcoming match and celebrate Marakana's birthday.

They "stormed" the pitch and positioned flares on it so that once lit, they showed a symbol that represents their relationship with this stadium.

Take a look at what that was like:

Red Star is currently in second place with a point less than Partizan, which has also played one more game. Zeleznicar has had a great start to the season and is currently in fourth place with 12 points, so this will be the most interesting match in this round of SuperLiga.

But this is also the last before the 177th Belgrade "eternal" derby, that Partizan and Red Star will play on September 20.
