General Nebojsa Pavkovic passes away

General Nebojsa Pavkovic has died in Belgrade, at the age of 79.
On September 28 he was released from a prison in Finland and returned to Serbia to receive medical treatment.
General Pavkovic was a former high ranking officer of the Yugoslav Army (VJ), best known for his role during the war in Kosovo and the NATO bombing of Serbia in 1999, and the subsequent ruling of the Hague Tribunal against him.
Nebojsa Pavkovic was born on April 10, 1946 in the village of Senjski Rudnik. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1970, the Command and Staff Academy, and the Command and Staff School of Operations.
The general was the commander of the Pristina Corps (from January 1998), the commander of the Third Army of the VJ (from December 1998 to February 2000), which was deployed in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija during the NATO aggression in 1999.
