Electoral panel in Pristina accepts appeal lodged by Serb List and confirms its candidates for elections
The Election Panel for Appeals and Petitions has accepted the appeal filed by the Serb List (SL), thus annulling the unlawful decision made by the Central Election Commission in Pristina not to certify SL candidates for snap parliamentary elections that will be held on December 28 in Kosovo and Metohija.
The party announced over the weekend that 33 of its candidates will run in these elections.
On Thursday, the Serb List appealed against the decision made by the Election Commission (CEC) the previous day not to certify their candidates, even though they met the necessary conditions.
Last Monday, the Serb List submitted the list of its candidates to the CEC after it was verified for the parliamentary elections by the Election Panel for Appeals and Petitions, which accepted the party's appeal against a previous decision made by the CEC not to certify the Serb List, and confirmed the party's certification for participation in the elections.
The CEC refused to verify the Serb List for the previous Pristina Assembly elections held on February 9, as well as for local elections on October 12, and confirmed the party's participation only after the Serb List appealed to the election panel and to the Supreme Court in Pristina, which accepted the appeal and ordered the CEC to confirm the party's candidates.
