Assistant director of the Pulmonology Department at the Clinical Center of Serbia Spasoje Popevic, who is in charge of the treatment of Ivica Dacic, spoke this morning about the state of health of the Serbian deputy PM and interior minister, who had to be hospitalized with bilateral pneumonia.

The doctor said that Dacic's condition is this morning somewhat more stable.

"He is still in a serious condition, the battle continues. He is on a ventilator and we managed to stabilize him at this time, precisely in that way. I can't say he's doing better, it's too early, but at the moment, because of everything we've done, the situation is more stable than it was yesterday. We continue to fight for him and apply all measures of intensive treatment," Popevic said.

The doctor added that he would be making regular updates.

"The next one will be in the evening unless something extraordinary happens, and if it does you will be informed in a timely manner. I appeal on the media to show understanding toward the family and friends of Minister Dacic and act  in a restrained manner. We will be making annoucements in the morning and in the evening, the public will not be deprived of information," he said.

Popevic stressed once again that the minister is stable at the moment.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said this morning, on the plane on his way to Kazakhstan, that the condition of Ivica Dacic is "somewhat better." Before departing for Kazakhstan, Vucic visited Dacic in the hospital.

"I visited Ivica this morning. The doctors say that his condition is somewhat better. I have faith in him. Now I'm heading to Kazakhstan to achieve great results for our Serbia," the president wrote on his Instagram account.
