Watch video of Serbian Deputy PM Ivica Dacic leaving the hospital after 2 weeks
Serbian Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic was on Tuesday discharged from the hospital, after spending alsmost two weeks at the Clinical Center of Serbia.
He left the hospital accompanied by his wife and son.
"Thank you, I just want to ask everyone, take care of your health. Long live Serbia!," Dacic said.
Dr. Mihailo Stjepanovic, director of the Pulmonology Clinic, spoke about the high-ranking Serbian official's current condition.
"After almost two weeks of hospitalization, Mr. Ivica Dacic was discharged today for further treatment at home. He is stable and still requires monitoring and treatment. He received advice regarding further therapy and we will see him soon for a check-up," said the doctor.
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic reacted to the news with a post on his Instagram account, with the caption reading:
"Ivica is about to leave the hospital. I am thankful to the doctors for performing a miracle, and happy for him and his family, who are celebrating life and a great victory. I hope nobody takes this the wrong way, he's a Socialist, I'm not, so I'd also like thank God."
Ivica Dacic was admitted to the hospital on February 25 with severe pneumonia. The same evening, he was intubated. He was taken off the ventilator on March 2.
