A citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina has ben arrested at the border with Montenegro, after arriving there driving a luxury Audi owned by a consulate - and he was armed!

The Montenegrin border police said that while working to suppress all forms of cross-border crime via inter-sector intelligence cooperation, they arrested a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina on suspicion of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives.

"Last night, at the Scepan Polje border crossing, police officers checked a foreign person of interest - B.Z. (44) from Sarajevo, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who was driving an Audi A8 owned by the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Belarus in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Upon inspection of the person and the vehicle, a firearm was found in the trunk - a Glock 45 FS pistol, with a frame and 17 pieces of ammunition," the statement added.

The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Niksic was informed about the event, and put B.Z. in custody.

The police also temporarily confiscated the pistol and the ammunition.
