President Vucic announces when decision on election date will be made
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic says that the decision on when to hold elections will be made in the next ten days, stressing that elections are a "moment of truth" and one of the most important decisions for the future of the country.
Vucic told TV Informer that there is "no deception when it comes to elections", because the future of the country is decided by the citizens.
"The people choose what kind of future they want and to whom they will entrust it. Elections are not a toy and they are not a decision to be made in a tavern. The direction the country will take depends on them," said Vucic.
The president also announced a new program, which he says will contain serious guidelines for the upcoming period.
"A lot has been done, but the world has changed and now we must change and speed up many things. New plans and new energy are needed," said Vucic.
He added that he is not afraid of political opponents, but is apprehensive about the global circumstances and challenges that await Serbia going forward.
"Elections are a question of the future of millions of people in Serbia. That's why citizens must carefully choose people who will safeguard and protect the country's interests," said Vucic.
The announced decision about elections comes at a time of intensified political activities and increasingly frequent speculation about a possible dates. It is expected that the coming days will bring a clearer picture regarding the future political moves and Serbia's direction.
