Vucic: It's only thanks to Serb Republic that Bosnia-Herzegovina has not recognized Kosovo

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said last night that it is only thanks to the Serb Republic (RS, Serb entity in BiH) that Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) hasnot recognized the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo.

"Only thanks to the RS, Bosnia and Herzegovina is still militarily neutral. Only thanks to the RS, Bosnia and Herzegovina did not recognize Kosovo. Otherwise, in Sarajevo and Mostar, they would have jumped at the chance to do it," Vucic told TV Pink ahead of the central ceremony marking the Day of Remembrance for the victims of Croatia's Operation Storm, held last night in Mrkonjic Grad.

He assessed that independent Serbia has always been a problem for the great powers throughout history, and that this is not much different today.

Vucic added that the RS has maintained every kind of closeness with Serbia and that Serbia is very grateful to the RS as an entity, but above all to its people and citizens, as well as that it is Serbia's duty to take care of its people in the RS.

"They (the opposition) have been attacking people from the RS. Supposedly, they are to blame for someone's election victories or defeats, or whatever. It's that third level of attack on Serbia that always has to come from Belgrade itself, from the epicenter. First they do it point by point, in different parts of the fatehrland far from Belgrade, and then, of course, it all has to happen in Belgrade," Vucic said, and continued:

"And they do it from two angles: one is the open anti-Serb one, where you have all those lined up, from Jesic, the Green-Left Front, the Student List, and so on. They do it openly. They openly hate the RS, they openly hate any kind of unification, spiritual, whatever you like, of our people."

According to him, the second, more dangerous group of people who attack Serbia, have always served the most, especially in key moments of our history, to those who wanted to destroy Serbia.

"These are fake salon nationalists, for whom you were never Serb enough, even though they love to receive big state salaries, even though they love to live well," said Vucic.

He also stated that he hopes that people in the towns in the RS and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH, the other entity in BiH) that he visited in recent days saw Serbia's commitment and desire to help and show concern for its people.

"I hope that people saw our dedication, desire to help, desire to show care for our people. I visited places that people from Serbia almost never visit. When I say 'people from Serbia', I mean those who are in power; I may have visited some the third or fourth time. I think they are strategically very important to us, like Drvar and other places, and I will continue to do that," said Vucic.
