Supporters of the Student List and the SNS clash in Novi Sad

On Tuesday evening in Novi Sad, a physical confrontation occurred between supporters of the Serbian Progressive Party, SNS, and those of the Student List.

Videos published on social networks show that the incident took place after Ilija Srdanovic, who heads the "Students are Winning" electoral list, appeared among the crowd, and that during the confrontation between the two groups, one woman was punched in the head.

The leader of the "United Serbia" list, Aleksandar Vucic, spoke out after the incident to say that a Serbian Progressive Party activist was injured during the clash.

"The violence perpetrated by the blockaders, especially against women, is disgraceful and terrible. I call on our supporters not to respond to them in kind, but to peacefully bring the campaign to an end and convincingly defeat the thugs," Vucic wrote on his Instagram account.

On that occasion, he added that an SNS activist was also beaten in the town of Nis.

Citizens on social networks commented by offering completely different takes on the same videos showing the violence.
