Aleksandar Vucic's wife Tamara Vucic shared an exclusive moment from the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly on social media, showing a relaxed and cordial meeting between US President Donald Trump, at that time President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, and herself.

This follows several days of speculation by the opposition and the media about whether Vucic actually attended the official reception organized by Trump.

"Certain photographs are worth a ten-day wait. President Trump's signature pose for the camera - but what the photograph cannot capture are his jokes that brought these smiles to our faces," Tamara Vucic captioned the photo she published on Instagram.

In recent days, there have been claims that Aleksandar Vucic did not attend the event organized by the US president, as well as remarks that his meetings with European officials took place only "in passing". The photo with the US leader completely denies such allegations, clearly showing a relaxed atmosphere and a direct conversation.

During his stay in the US, Vucic himself reflected on the atmosphere at the reception and the comments about it:

"You can imagine, the torment of those who turn the pedals (his political opponents). What can I tell you, (I met) with at least 120 of them (officials)... I also invited him (Trump) to come to Serbia, repeated it. I know that he received messages from the other side as well, but the US president said that he would very much think about it and that he heard many nice things about our country. We hope that we can do that next year," Vucic stated at the time.

During his official address at the UN General Assembly, Vucic drew the attention of the world public to the double standards and decades-long injustices done to Serbia. In his speech, he emphasized that the country has been facing pressure for years, spoke about the implementation of the Brussels agreement reached under the auspices of the EU, and confirmed Serbia's unwavering stance in defense of its sovereignty, the UN Charter, and UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
