Former RS President Biljana Plavsic laid to rest in Banja Luka

Biljana Plavsic, former president of the Serb Republic (RS, Serb entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH) and a former ICTY convict was laid to rest in Banja Luka today.

Earlier in the day, Serbian Orthodox Metropolitan Jefrem of Banja Luka served funeral rites for Biljana Plavsic.

During the funeral procession, the coffin was accompanied by members of the honor platoon of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Wreaths from former RS President Milorad Dodik, President of the RS National Assembly Nenad Stevandic, and Serb member of the BiH Presidency Zeljka Cvijanovic were laid next to the coffin.

Previously, a commemoration was held in Banski Dvori, which was attended by Milorad Dodik, Nenad Stevandic, former RS President Dragan Cavic, ministers in the RS Government and numerous other officials.
