The football association of the unrecognized so-called Kosovo boasted on its official Twitter account that Ilija Ivic, a 17-year-old from Gracanica, would play for the youth team of the unrecognized state.

Ivic is a native of Gracanica and has been traveling to Pristina for the past three years, where he trains with Flamurtari. His hard work, and above all his talent, has clearly been noticed, so the young stopper recently joined the first team, after which he was given his first professional contract.

He was with the Pristina club in Turkey this January for preparations.

"I'm happy to play for the first team. Also, I have been invited to play for the national team, that means a lot to me, because it is an indicator that someone appreciates my qualities. It gives me a motive for further progress," Ivic told Albanian media recently.

This is not the first time Ilija Ivic has received an invitation from the Kosovo team. The previous one he refused. He now says he wants to concentrate on club commitments, but will definitely accept the invitation in the future.
