Man arrested for lying about being in contact with coronavirus during workplace altercation

The man now under arrest is being kept in custody for up to 48 hours on charges of causing panic and disorder

Members of the Interior Ministry in Novi Sad have arrested 35-year-old B.S. on suspicion that he committed the criminal act of causing panic and disorder.

It is suspected that after a workplace altercation with a colleague, he made a false statement about having been in the company of persons infected with coronavirus, which caused fear and panic among other employees.

B.S. has been detained for up to 48 hours, after which he will be brought before the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad along with a criminal complaint.
