The 41st attempt to constitute the Assembly in Pristina has been unsuccessful

The constitutive session of the Assembly of the provisional Pristina institutions was suspended today for the 41st time.
Self-Determination's proposal to make the vote to elect the Assembly president secret was once again rejected.
The Democratic League of Kosovo, the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the Serb List refused to propose members for a commission that would oversee the secret ballot.
54 out of the 99 deputies present voted in favor of forming the said commission.
The Assembly session in Pristina is now scheduled to resume on July 5.
Self-Determination's candidate for Assembly president is still Albulena Haxhiu. In the initial six attempts to elect her, she never received more than 57 out of the necessary minimum 61 votes.
After this, Albin Kurti's party moved to hold a secret vote, but that has thus far been rejected dozens of times.
The so-called constitutional court of Kosovo issued a judgement on June 26 according to which the deputies are under obligation to conclude the constitutive session within 30 days at the latest, by electing the Assembly president and their deputy.
Yesterday, the president of the provisional institutions in Pristina, Vjosa Osmani, launched separate talks with leaders of parliamentary parties and called on them to reach an agreement regarding the process of setting up the new Assembly as soon as possible, in any case within the deadline determined by the court.
Based on the results of the elections held on February 9, no party has enough mandates to form a government on its own.
Self-Determination has 48 seats, the Democratic Party of Kosovo 24, the Democratic League of Kosovo 20, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the Nisma initiative eight each, the Serb List nine, the Party for Freedom, Justice and Survival one, and the remaining 10 mandates belong to representatives of other non-majority communities.
