Public debates in the parliament are an example of good practice that will meet with a positive opinion in the report on the work of the Assembly, both in the country, as well as by the European Parliament and the Commission, President of the Assembly Ivica Dacic said today.

Welcoming those present at the first public hearing in the new convocation of the Assembly, he said that the institute of public hearings is an important instrument in the work of parliaments.

It is also a significant step forward in overseeing the work of ministers and other civil servants, compared to the traditional form of oversight, which was exercised mainly through MPs questions.

Dacic thanked those present for coming and thus respecting the advice and proposal of the parliament to have as many similar events as possible in the coming period in the Assembly of Serbia.

There are two important acts on the agenda of the public hearing - the Bill on Digital Property and the Bill on Fiscalization.
