Serbia has obtained the consent of all EU member states to open cluster 4.

Earlier, after a conference in Budapest which discussed the future of Europe, Minister for European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic said she expected that at least one of the two clusters that the EU commission recommended would be opened at the Intergovernmental Conference during the Slovenian EU presidency.

This cluster brings together EU accession chapters related to transport, energy, trans-European networks, environmental protection and climate change. The government points out that our Green Agenda is harmonized with European regulations in that area.

In the past year, Serbia completed the legal framework in the field of mining and energy.

The new Laws on Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Efficiency and Rational Energy Consumption also provide assistance to citizens, the kind the European Union has been providing for years to insulate homes, replace carpentry, heating boilers and enable households to produce electricity from solar panels.

Public energy companies are being reformed - electricity distribution system has been separated from EPS, and in Srbijagas the transport activity has been separated from gas distribution.

"We have adopted a plan on strategic oil reserves, which should be 61 days, today they are 29 days in Serbia. So, we have started with some structural changes that are very important and represent a step towards market opening. Serbia cannot be closed in terms of energy, it is a transit country, it must develop energy, but in a healthy way, precisely through the Green Agenda," said Zorana Mihajlovic, Minister of Mining and Energy.

The Environmental Ministry also says that they have harmonized laws with European ones, and are developing, within the Green Agenda, four pillars of activities: the long-term Law on Climate Change was passed. while 11 accompanying bylaws are being drafted, second - the three-year Circular Economy Program, third - the Law and Program of Nature Protection have passed.
