This is when new convocation of Serbian National Assembly will meet for constitutive session
The Electoral Commission (RIK) last night adopted the final results of the early parliamentary elections, which started the legal deadline for the constitution of the new convocation of the Serbian National Assembly, which is 30 days from the publication of the final results.
According to the Law on Election of People's Deputies, within 10 days from the date of publication of the overall report on the results of the election, RIK assigns mandates to the candidates for people's deputies according to the order on electoral lists.
Based on the RIK report, the mandates of deputies are confirmed during the first session of the National Assembly.
The session is convened by the president of the National Assembly in the previous convocation, so that the session is held no later than 30 days after the announcement of election results.
By confirming the mandate of at least two-thirds of people's deputies, a new convocation of the National Assembly is constituted, which ends the mandate of the previous one.
The deadline for forming a new government is 90 days from the formation of the National Assembly.
According to the results adopted by the RIK, the Student List will have 140 mandates, and the "Aleksandar Vucic - United Serbia" list will have 103 mandates.
Seven more deputies from ethnic minority lists will be represented in the National Assembly.
Early parliamentary elections were held on September 25 with participation of 18 election lists, nine of which represented minorities.
