"Situation in Europe and world gets harder" Vucic announces new economic measures: We're protecting our people

Prices are rising dramatically and it is important that we take measures, and we will inform citizens about those measures tonight or tomorrow - said the president

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic addressed Serbian citizens via Instagram, regarding the current security situation in Europe, due to the situation with Ukraine.

"The situation in Europe and the world is getting harder, Serbia will protect the interests of its people and country," said Vucic.

He said that Serbia will succeed in overcoming the political problems together, but that the economic ones are getting bigger and more difficult.

"That is why we are reacting to the highest prices in history of coal, electricity, gas and all raw materials. Prices of food products are also rising dramatically. That is why it is important that we take measures and we will inform you about those measures as soon as possible - tonight or tomorrow. It is important that we react without panic and I am convinced that we will preserve stability and peace and good life for our citizens," he stated.

The president said in yesterday's statement that pressure on our country is enormous and will be difficult to endure.

"I had talks with several countries, until late at night... We will hold on as long as we can, we only have one country. It is not easy, it is not simple," said Vucic, commenting on the events in Ukraine and the allegation that Serbia is sitting on two chairs.
