The European Commission has proposed to EU member states to grant Bosnia and Herzegovina candidate status, with conditions.

The Council of the European Union, i.e. all its members, will unanimously decide on this in December.

BiH is asked to work on reforms, with eight priorities listed. It is expected that it could receive a positive response from the members in December, considering that this is the identical formula of the EC recommendation as with Ukraine and Moldova.

Klix reports that previous experience shows EU members could make additional demands, other than those made by the European Commission, but the candidate status is almost certain.
