Mass arrest of pedophiles in Serbia: Operation Armageddon nets 9 more, content featuring 7-year-olds found

As Operation Armageddon continued, nine people were arrested on suspicion that they committed the criminal acts of displaying, obtaining and possessing pornographic material and exploiting a minor for pornography and sexual harassment.

The arrest operation was carried out by members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Department for Suppression of High-Technological Crime of the SBPOK, in cooperation with the Special Prosecutor's Office for Combating High-Technological Crime of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade.

The police arrested M.K. (43), Z.M. (65), I.DJ. (37), F.K. (31), S.P. (51), N.DJ. (28), B.N. (57), S.S. (35) and S.M. (36).

They are suspected of having, over a prolonged period of time, using the internet, downloaded, saved on their computers and shared content created by exploiting children for pornographic purposes, using file sharing applications.

At the same time, via social networks, they entered into communication with minors, sent photos and videos of pornographic content and obtained content resulting from the exploitation of minors.

A search of the suspects' apartments, an inspection of computers and computer equipment uncovered a large amount of video clips and photographs created through the exploitation of minors for pornographic purposes, contents of sexual exploitation of children aged 7 to 14 and other photographs and videos of explicit abuse of children for pornographic purposes, as well as messages of sexual content with which the suspects sexually harassed children and minors.

The suspects will be detained for up to 48 hours before they are brought to the competent prosecutor's office along with criminal complaints.
