Vladislav Jovicic (30) from Kragujevac drowned on Tuesday in Lefkada, Greece, when, according to the Greek media, he went into the sea to save his girlfriend.

"The waves were huge, she was in the water, he went in to save her, the wave covered him and his body then just floated up," they said.

The tragedy happened on Megali Petra beach in Kalamitsi.

Others who were at the beach pulled him out of the water and tried to resuscitate him before the ambulance arrived. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

The body was transported to the Department of Forensic Medicine in Patras for an autopsy.

Telegraf.rs has learned that the victim was vacationing with his girlfriend and two friends.
