After a rainy and unexpectedly cold May, summer-like (not to mention hot) weather is coming.

Temperatures will exceed 30 degrees in early June. The Institute of Public Health Batut announcd a heat wave, singling out one part of Serbia.

"In the next ten days, from June 5, a heat wave is expected in the South Banat district. The forecast maximum daily air temperature valuea will be in the range of a potentially dangerous phenomenon on June 4 and 5 in the city of Belgrade, North Backa, Central Banat, South Banat, Branicevo and Zlatibor districts, as well as on June 8 in Belgrade, in the north of the country and in parts of northeastern and central Serbia," it is stated on the Batut website.

The good news is that apart from these days, others are not listed as potentially dangerous.

First heat wave of the season

The first heat wave and mostly sunny weather are expected in the first half of June. Today the highs will range between 30 to 33 degrees Celsius, while starting tomorrow and until the end of the week, from 32 to 36 degrees.

Outside the larger urban areas, especially in central and southern Serbia, nights and mornings will be relatively cool (with marked daily temperature fluctuations, sometimes by more than 20 degrees), while in the province of Vojvodina in the north and in Belgrade mornings as well will be warm.

After June 3, central parts of Belgrade will have nights with the minimum temperature never dropping below 20 degrees!
