President Vucic meets with delegation of students who are demanding return to classes
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic today received a delegation of university students who are demanding a resumption of classes.
The student delegation includes Vladimir Balac, Luka Lalosevic and Milos Pavlovic.
Pavlovic told a press conference held yesterday in Pionirski Park in Belgrade that he would reveal the decision on the previously announced hunger strike after the meeting with Vucic.
"Out of great respect for the president of the Republic and out of respect for the support he has give us so far, we will announce the final decision regarding further steps after the meeting," said Pavlovic.
He recalled that a week ago, the students who want to return to their faculties announced they planned to go on a hunger strike, unless those faculties resumed classes by June 1.
Pavlovic also said that on Saturday evening Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) leader and adviser to the president Milos Vucevic visited them and asked them not to make any final decisions before the meeting with Vucic.
Minister of Education Dejan Vuk Stankovic also visited the students, and urged them not to go on a hunger strike.
These students have been in Pionirski Park since March 6, demanding a resumption of classes.
