Petkovic: Scandalous decision about Serbian media, vote for Serb List as response to Pristina's terror
The director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, says that Pristina's decision to ban Serbian media from covering local elections in Kosovo and Metohija on October 12 shows that there is no freedom of speech or press there.
Petkovic also pointed out that Serbs should show unity on Sunday and vote for the Serb List, and in this way respond to Albin Kurti's terror against them.
Petkovic said that the decision of the Central Election Commission in Pristina not to accredit any Serbian-language media for covering local elections is scandalous and added that what Albin Kurti and Pristina are doing to the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija has long been no surprise.
He stated that Kurti first tried to ban the participation of the Serb List in these elections, after that, he banned the party's campaign video, then reduced the number of election committees where the Serb List can have its representatives.
"All this clearly shows that Kurti is seriously afraid of the Serb List's victory (in Serb areas) on Sunday, when the Serb List should regain the four municipalities in the north and confirm victory in the six Serb municipalities south of the Ibar," said Petkovic.
When asked why it is important that every Serb with the right to vote goes to the polls on Sunday and who they should vote for, Petkovic said that Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija do not have the right or luxury to divisions and that going to the polls is not a partisan matter but a national issue.
He stressed that Serb List is the only legitimate representative of the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija and the embodiment of the struggle for Serb national interests in the southern province.
"It's a party that must get the full required majority from the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija so that we can, on the one hand, protect our people, fight for their survival in Kosovo and Metohija, while a Serb List victory is also a guarantee of the continuation of all the Serbian Government projects and the assistance of the state to our people in Kosovo and Metohija," said Petkovic.
He called on Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija and internally displaced persons with the right to vote to circle the number 170 under which the Serb List will appear on ballot papers on Sunday.
"To, by voting for the Serb List, show full unity and respond to the terror of Albin Kurti and everything that the Serbs have been going through in the last four years in the north of Kosovo and Metohija," said Petkovic.
