Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced that on Saturday, October 11, rallies will be organized throughout the country as a sign of opposition to (anti-government) blockades and violence, but also in strong support for Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija.

"This time the gatherings will not only be a message of 'stop the blockades', but also a sign of solidarity and support for our people in Kosovo and Metohija," Vucic said during a tour of Belgrade's Lozionica venue.

He specified that he was informed about this by the Center for Social Stability, which is also the official organizer of the rallies. According to him, the gatherings will not start at the same time everywhere, but will be held at different times — from 4 p.m., 5 p.m., and elsewhere from 6 p.m.

"What I was told is that this time the gatherings will be in the largest number of places thus far, even in many villages throughout Serbia. People will come out to show their unity, support our people in Kosovo and Metohija, but also to clearly say 'no' to violence and 'no' to blockades," the president said.

Aleksandar Vucic stressed that it is important for Serbia to remain stable and united, without divisions and destructive behavior, and to show that it supports peace and our compatriots wherever they live.
