Vucevic: Picula is again interfering in Serbia's internal affairs and telling brutal lies
Ruling SNS party leader and adviser to the president Milos Vucevic said today that the European Parliament (EP) rapporteur for Serbia, Tonino Picula, is once again directly interfering in Serbia's internal affairs and that he is telling brutal lies and presenting scandalous, arbitrary assessments.
"Is that in the spirit of European values which he supposedly promotes? There are no European values there, but it is in the spirit of Picula, a man out of whom emanates hatred towards Serbia," Vucevic stated in a post on X, reacting to Picula's claim that the violence near the Serbian National Assembly, in Pionirski Park, was "inevitable, because Vucic's supporters are there to intervene against opponents of the government."
Vucevic stressed that the latest EP Resolution about Serbia was written based on the same matrix, the text of which he said is very strange and contrary to the principles and values of the EU.
"I expected that the EP would, for example, condemn the attacks and the burning of SNS premises, that they would condemn the attack on children who want to attend classes, on people who want to move, work and live freely... They ignore that!", stated Vucevic.
He added that the authors but also those who support such resolutions are not interested in the truth, but in the overthrowing the government and seizing power through violence.
"They will not succeed in that by publishing bizarre and non-binding documents about the alleged state of affairs in Serbia, nor with all of Picula's lies. Serbia will win!," concluded Vucevic.
Tonino Picula previously stated that European Parliament groups "needed two hours to find common language" while working on the resolution about Serbia, and described Wednesday's shooting in front of the Serbian National Assembly as "violence that was inevitable because Vucic's supporters are there to intervene" against the opponents of the government.
