Petroleum Industry of Serbia, NIS, CEO Kirill Tyurdenev addressed the company's employees last night.

Namely, Tyurdenev confirmed that on November 14, NIS received a license from the US Treasury Department's OFAC, which enabled the official opening of negotiations with shareholders and other interested parties.

However, he emphasized that te situation surrounding the company is still not resolved, and that this license expires on February 13.

Tyurdenev pointed out that the shareholders are "actively conducting negotiations with all interested parties" and that in the coming days it is expected that a new request will be submitted to OFAC.

Approval of this would allow NIS to continue operating smoothly while discussions to reach a permanent and sustainable solution for the company are taking place.

Stable supply despite challenges

During last night's address to the employees, the CEO particularly stressed that the company managed to maintain a stable supply of oil derivatives to the domestic market, despite a very challenging period, and that it has achieved solid business results.

"Since the introduction of sanctions, our consumers have hardly felt any consequences, which shows how successfully our team has been in maintaining the continuity of the business," said Tyurdenev.

He thanked the employees for their commitment and noted that the company is doing everything so that they feel the consequences of the current situation as little as possible.

"We are aware that this is not an easy period, so I thank you for your patience and understanding. The contribution of each of you is crucial for preserving the stability of NIS. It is important that we continue to do our work in a responsible and professional manner. I am proud of our team," Kirill Tyurdenev said, according to Blic Biznis.
