President Vucic welcomes Georgian counterpart Kavelashvili in front of the Palace of Serbia in New Belgrade
President Aleksandar Vucic welcomed today, with top state honors in front of the Palace of Serbia, President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili, who is on an official visit.
The president of Georgia was given a ceremonial welcome, with the sounding of the two countries' national anthems and an honor guard of the Serbian Army.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric welcomed Kavelashvili together with President Vucic.
A face-to-face meeting between Vucic and Kavelashvili as well as a plenary meeting between the members of the delegations of Serbia and Georgia led by the two presidents followed.
Vucic and Kavelashvili will later make statements for the press.
The president of Georgia was welcomed last night at Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport Marko Djuric, who said he believed the visit will provide additional boost in order to strengthen ties between the two countries that established diplomatic relations 30 years ago.
Kavelashvili is on his first official visit to Serbia since he was elected president of Georgia a year ago.
