Aleksandar Vucic meets with Jeffrey Sachs: We spoke about global situation and Serbian regional circumstances
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke today in Belgrade with Columbia University professor and economist Jeffrey Sachs, and stated later that they discussed all important aspects of the global situation and Serbian regional circumstances, the increasing polarization of the world, the role of diplomacy and international law in emerging conflicts, as well as the difficult strategic decisions facing world leaders.
"I am extremely honored to have had the opportunity to exchange opinions with Jeffrey Sachs, a man whose vast knowledge and rich experience justify his reputation as one of the greatest economists of our time. Professor Sachs's critical reviews, analyses, conclusions and opinion regarding the current global developments are of great importance for Serbia, which carefully follows his assessments and predictions," Aleksandar Vucic stated in a post on the Instagram account "buducnostsrbijeav".
Regarding the situation in the region, Vucic pointed out that our country's consistent political positions and responsible economic policy represent the more difficult, but certainly the only right path in today's constellation of world powers and that Serbia will persistently advocate for peace and cooperation between countries, which is the main precondition for overcoming the current situation that is complex and difficult.
"I learned a lot, because Jeffrey Sachs is an exceptional connoisseur of the complex mechanism of international politics on which the world's economic future depends, and whose deep insights should be listened to by decision-makers at the highest level. I took the opportunity to invite Professor Sachs to do us an honor by visiting Serbia again," said Vucic.
