President Vucic offers condolences after catastrophic train crash, expresses solidarity with people of Spain

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic today offered his condolences to Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez, King of Spain Felipe VI, and the people of that country after a railway accident that claimed dozens of lives.

"It is with deep sadness that I received the news of the serious train accident in Spain in which a large number of people died. I offer my sincere condolences to Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and King Felipe VI, and expressions of solidarity to the people of Spain in these difficult times. I wish those injured a speedy recovery," Vucic stated in a post on X.

According to latest information at least 39 people died, and at least 73 were injured, 24 seriously, when two trains collided.

The accident happened around 19:45 on Sunday in the southern Spanish province of Andalusia, when a train traveling from Malaga to Madrid derailed and crashed into the track in which a train traveling from Madrid to Huelva was moving, causing it to derail as well.
