PM Macut calls on international representatives in Kosovo and Metohija to urgently react to attack on Raskovic

Serbian PM Djuro Macut has called on international representatives in Kosovo and Metohija to react urgently and demand full responsibility for the brutal beating of Nenad Raskovic, a Serb from the village of Dren near Zubin Potok, and added that violence against Serbs in the Province must stop immediately.

"I expect a clear and unequivocal reaction from the international community," emphasized Macut and added that violence against Serbs must not become a daily occurrence that is being a blind eye turned to, the Serbian Government announced.

Macut said that he was deeply shaken by the brutality to which Nenad Raskovic was exposed and that there cannot be any justification for endangering a man's life, and dignity.

As he stated, every citizen must have the right to security, regardless of their nationality, and those who threaten that right must be held accountable.

Macut pointed out that the state of Serbia will continue to stand by its people in Kosovo and Metohija and insist on their safety and the protection of basic human rights.

"I wish Nenad Raskovic strength and a speedy recovery, and to his family, but also to all our people in Kosovo and Metohija, I say - Serbia is with you and will not remain silent in the face of violence," said Macut.

Raskovic, who is from the village of Dren in the municipality of Zubin Potok, was brutally beaten on Tuesday evening in his home by the so-called Kosovo police.

Due to the severity of his injuries, he was transported from KBC Kosovska Mitrovica on Wednesday to the Clinical Center of Serbia in Belgrade.
